None of the LYCO Orchestras will be rehearsing on Friday, the 22nd of September 2017. This affects the Piccolo Strings, Intermezzo Strings and Launceston Symphony Orchestra.

However, there will still be rehearsals for all three orchestras on the following Friday, the 29th of September, the day that the school holidays begin.

There will be no rehearsals for the two weeks after this due to the holidays, before rehearsals resume on Friday, the 20th of October 2017.

For the complete list of rehearsal and concert dates for the year, see the Rehearsals page.

What to Bring

The complete list of what to bring is in the Information Sheets.

During the camp we will be reading from the Bärenreiter Urtext edition of the Beethoven Symphony No. 3. You are no longer required to bring your own sheet music.

As of Friday morning, the weather forecast for Ulverstone gives an 80% chance of rain on Friday, 60% on Saturday and 20% on Sunday. We recommend packing a raincoat.

Temperatures will range from 3°C to 12°C. Pack sheets, blankets, sleeping bags and hot water bottles accordingly.

Rehearsals Resume 28th July 2017

There will be no rehearsals at the City Baptist Church on the 7th of July 2017. Musicians who registered for the Winter Orchestra Workshop should assemble the items listed in the WOW Information Sheets and go to Camp Clayton. If that doesn’t apply to you, your school holidays begin a few hours early.

The next rehearsal of the Piccolo Strings, Intermezzo Strings and Launceston Symphony Orchestra will be on the first Friday of term 3: the 28th of July 2017. For other rehearsal dates, see the Rehearsals page.

Recordings from the mid year concert are also now online. To hear them, visit the 2017 Mid Year Concert page in the Galleries.
